Julius

Past founder of Top Hat Racing, Julius has held the post of consultant to Lord March's team at Goodwood since 1998, taking in all aspects of the Goodwood Revival meeting, Goodwood Festival of Speed and latterly the inspiring 'Vintage at Goodwood' festival.

It was during his ownership of Top Hat Racing that Julius collaborated with the team at Goodwood to create a pragmatic set of regulations for pre'60s touring cars that would help develop a robust series for these cars and offer a competitive home for a diverse range of marques and models that could qualify for selection to Goodwood's St. Mary's Trophy on alternative years to their pre-'66 version of this popular race.

As an enthusiast competitor, the founder of this series has been responsible for the restoration of many past race cars - Peugeot 203, Morris Minor, Volvo Amazon and PV544, Sunbeam Rapier, MG Magnettes - to name a few. Currently a 1957 Simca Vedette is under examination.

Such personal interest has made Julius yield to competitor pressure to revive the impetus of this series.

By placing the mantle of the HRDC around these competitors, Julius hopes that a new focus and interest will be the catalyst of a revival for these unique racers.

Also the owner of a Works Ashley GT and a famous MG Midget, Julius will also be busy racing with the A-series Challenge.
