Austin A 40 Devon A New Querky Race Car In The Making
We at IK Classics have taken on what we hope will be a very interesting project which is the restoration and transformation of a 1948 Austin A40 Devon saloon car into an historic race car to compete in the Masters, Oldies But Goldies series.
The car had been dry stored for many years having been taken off the road in the early 1970's with a blown engine.
After consultation with the ledgendary Barry "Whizzo" Williams it is hoped that the car will be restored as a replica of his early A40 race car "Jenny" which many of you original Huddersfield Motor Club members may remember. One thing we wont be replicating on the car is Barry's version of water injection although his discription of it's effect continues to make me smile when ever I think about it.
